New York City’s Times Square is not known for being calm and quiet – that’s entirely why we came! – but stepping into nearby EVEN Hotel Times Square South feels like a deep exhale.
Decidedly urban and laidback, with neutral tones and green walls, the property is entirely inviting.
We were warmly well-comed by the front desk staff, who asked after our travels and let us know about the water refill stations and on-site restaurant, Cork & Kale, perfect for our morning smoothies and grabbing healthy meals to go.
The EVEN lifestyle hotel brand was created by InterContinental Hotels Group in 2012 to offer a holistic wellness experience that would empower active travellers to maintain balance at an affordable price point.
And wellness is literally built in here, from the 24-hour Athletic Studio to the in-room fitness amenities, which included a yoga mat, foam roller, balance ball and 15 channels of core, cardio and strength instructional videos to get your sweat on, anytime.
The first wellness hotel in NYC features 150 guest rooms, which are designed as modern sanctuaries for rest, work (ergonomic workstation and free WiFi), and workouts.
The luxurious glass rain showers were pure bliss, as were the EO shower amenities and the beds – incredibly comfortable Beautyrest mattresses with natural eucalyptus fibre bedding. Combined with the blackout shades, we had never slept so soundly in the heart of Manhattan before this stay.
With its open design, friendly staff, and comfortable spaces throughout the property to relax, it was easy to see why this hotel won a 2017 TripAdvisor® Travelers’ Choice award for Top 25 Hotels in the US. Located on 35th Street between 8th and 9th, the hotel is steps away from Madison Square Garden and just a quick power walk from Times Square.
After a day spent strolling the beauty that is Central Park in late Winter, on our last night we indulged in (Famous Joe’s) pizza delivery back in the room. Guilt-free – because life is about balance, after all.
